| Sunday, February 03, 2008 Its late so I'll just do a short one. Hallplay's over, just like that. My contribution was quite different from the majority of the others. Two weeks of scrambling over tickets, staying in the dining hall watching the sun go down, sitting in science fac trying not to poke my eye out on the wooden figurine next to our stall. Two days of freezing in the foyer of UCC with aching legs directing traffic and threatening to stab people with plastic spoons. For some of the bolder people who tried to steal food, I really should have, senior or not. Greedy people, are they that desperate? And pretty much a year of working with the Ticketing Department which underwent major personnel changes over the course of hallplay. Its been great working with Hong Ju, Yue Zhi, Yong Jun, Priyanka and even Qin Yi whom I just got to know in the last two days, such have been the extent to which our shifts have been pulled. Sometimes I still wish I had gotten into my first choice committee. I wish that I had known my dates clearer, but I suppose that department head couldn't afford to take risks. I would have liked to be in production. After all, I've always liked to be active and being inactive while others are busy makes me feel kinda uncomfortable. It was not just once did someone make a scathing/patronizing, although maybe accidental, remark about Ticketing's contributions to hallplay, that made me feel like lashing out, even though the person might have meant no harm. But NEVER once did I regret getting into Ticketing. Ticketing was small, short of manpower, and I'm glad I could contribute to it, and to its members. I've definitely made new friends in hall through all the sitting around behind the stall and complaining about the lack of activity to each other =D And we did what we set out to do, according to the seniors. We didn't get a full house, but we still did better than we expected to. I'll never forget the day where we sat in the Meeting Room till 2 in the morning talking about things both serious and not, nor will I forget coming back from UCC, science canteen, or where have you, HongJu carrying programme booklets, Yue Zhi carrying the box, and I my LAW tube(also known as a standing banner hoho) My hallplay experience was not a classic one per se, having never actually seen the performance before in its entirety, or helped out directly in the production. I only can associate such things as cold, walkie talkies and penguin suits with it. Neither can I say that I felt any exhiliration at its completion like the production side. It was just a job that I completed. But still, it was fulfilling. Photos to be collected and posted in the near future maybe =) and all the best to XQRJ ~JcZw~ at 2:08 am
