| Thursday, November 15, 2007 I wore my infamous Lime Green Shirt to school yesterday on Jason's suggestion that yesterday be "Lakota Day". When I saw Squad 3 '04's squad shirt, I thought that was bright enough, well, Mine is WORST =Pp ![]() A shirt that reflects the light (at somerset with Yueyen during Amazing Race, Medicamp Day 1), glows in the dark, colours neighbouring people green if they're wearing a light colour, causes cars to accelerate at you and which Alfred described as "looking as though you highlighted your shirt" Anyway, of the responses I got (it continues to impress my OG =Pp but it was the first time the KEVIIan people had seen it), were the following 1. Michael: stared and stared and couldn't stop staring like he'd been hypnotized 2. Celeste: Squinted at said "so bright!" 3. Melvin Tan: said "wah!" 4. Shaun Chan: said "going for CWO arh?" 5. My PBL tutor: arrowed me to start the PBL cos "I was giving off vibes that I was ready" and the ultimate 5. Woon Li, the RJ epeeist: said that when I entered the LT she had to avert her eyes such was the glare, and even then saw a bright patch on green for a few moments after that =Pp man. Attention seekers needn't make lots of noise or what... they just have to wear bright bright green shirts.. So many people in science canteen were glancing at me out of the corner of their eyes... Anyway just came back from fencing in FM. Had my third private lesson. Coach told me (and it makes sense) that another reason why right-handers find it hard to fence lefties is that it's also physically more tiring, cos your parries now are using your underused supinator muscles rather than your honed pronators, since lefties usually attack to the outside. Still, pretty fun, and I got to fence Coach at the end haha... And I so died whenever it came to parry riposte duels with him =Pp Also practised inside flicks against the dummy placed in a left-handed stance. My flicks to the front are pretty much reliable, but still cannot really get the ranging right... Like that day I was hitting Jason all over his electric jacket, when I should have been only concentrating on under his left arm. Anyway, two weeks to CA, and my friends from OCS are commissioning soon.. Mixed feelings for them, though its nice that Maurice is back from Thailand, and it was fun catching up with Kenny online again (his job is so cooL!)... I guess there's nothing like going through the whole course? Though Yen Chin told me that it would have been just impractical to not defer (especially since my job was nothing spectacular), but I still feel kinda guilty for doing so, especially when older people (especially some of the aunties etc) start saying how "lucky you are", as though you never did dig your trench, though they're right that I didn't go to Brunei =( Guess it's kinda like the first time I didn't complete something which everyone else is... unlike St. John, or Chinese. ![]() The conversation with Daniel Hap, Tango 2309 summed up our feelings about OCS... I wouldn't want to live through that again, especially not the despondency of the first day, but still, it was a great experience... The incident of Kenny and The Thunderflash, by the way, is one of the top three funniest incidents which our section got into =Pp Oh well, I guess 1 am in the morning is not the best of times to do soul-searching... Shall stop for now... ~JcZw~ at 12:26 am
