| Tuesday, September 25, 2007 ![]() Its a kind of interesting relationship I have with my siblings... when I compare with my friends, its not as if we have a certain hierachy between us... No one's in awe of their older siblings very much heh... We get along in a much more unique sense that most other sister-brother-brother combis I know. For example, I'm the only younger brother I know who's room sometimes gets invaded by an older sister on Sunday mornings with a request to help her put on her bracelet. My relationship with my siblings is such that I never suffered from the "second child syndrome", cos though I was the second child, I was also the oldest guy, so it kinda made me something, at least in the child psychological sense. Though I seriously doubt my character would have minded being a girl (that sounds wrong, but I don't know how to say it =Pp) Its also in the sense that being the middle child, I spent the early part of my life quarreling with my sister and the later part of my life quarreling with my brother... Ermm though I can't remember anytime I won an argument heh... But anyway there are few incidents now that we live so far apart... I've been kinda living off my sister's reputation in both Hall and Medicine VCF, though I think with handball and soccer I hope to blaze my own trail heh... Its interesting how we both ended up in the same place after going to such disparate paths of education... One, a high flying RGS geeper and another a student from a chinesy AHS. And of course, with our parents, all of us were born with KE blood in our veins... Its so funny! No one can believe that she's my ELDER sister!! Responses from my friends have included "She really looks like you" -Julio "Your sister is really cute" -Ami "Really young! I tell you, [Jonathan's] sister looks really young!" -Arjun and the all important "Wah! Medicine not stress arh!" -Med Weilun and according to her, several have also replied "What! Jonathan has a twin!?" I dunno how to describe the sound made by one of the KE M2s, who, when he asked me why I was so familiar with a Year 4, and got a truthful answer, proceeded to nearly put his dinner down the wrong tube. A lot of people say we look very alike. But dunno heh... Of the three of us, my sister used to be the ring leader, bringing us to read books in the library, climbing the chinup bars at the playground, playing badminton with us, and challenging us to walk home from abacus class with our eyes closed (don't ask). Now my relationship with my sister is more informal in such she looks out for me cos she's the elder sibling, and I for her cos she's the girl (the train-my-brothers-to-be-gentlemen thing was started by her, by the way). My relationship with my brother is also fairly cordial, though we have to be careful to make sure our fairly different personalities don't collide (We are almost directly opposite, down to hairstyles and all), but he used to play Secret Agent (a kinda war game with toy guns n stuff) with me in our younger days, while now its more of cheering each other on while playing Battlefield 1942, or playing soccer, something in which we complement each other fairly well, since he plays as midfield and I play as keeper. My brother's also a brilliant! artist. Following me into AHS, while I went through St. John, he was a fantastic AEP student aside from his CCAs and his drawings now adorn many walls in AHS. Once during a PT session for the just graduated Squad 5s, I stopped scolding them for a while cos I got distracted by a painting on the wall with his name on the label heheh... Now, as I did with my sister, he's in VJ, bringing our tie, belt and collarpins to school for the 5th and 6th years =D and blazing his own trail there as a cross-country runner. Despite the fact that, to ourselves we look different, apparently we have the same mannerisms and the same verbal indiosyncracies (though different characters) with which people can us as each other's siblings, even when I was primary 1... I guess that's something we can identify with huh NB: With regard the the picture, this was taken some time in year 2 (no doubt some can identify my *ahem* birthday suit [literally]) and we're ALL myopic, just that I'm the one who cannot wear contacts =D Well, I guess that's my post-about-my-siblings for now. My sister, who's much more eloquent, did a better one on HER blog long long ago... But well, here's the best I can do with all the anatomy in my head... ~JcZw~ at 10:06 pm
