| Monday, February 19, 2007 Hoho. I accomplished my goal of cycling to Changi Village at last... Although it wasn't as nice as it could have been cos I was on my own, but still, it was quite fun.... Though I had to cycle past the SAF ferry terminal, which is presently one of my least favourite spots in Singapore. Or at least, one of my least favourite spots on Sunday nights. It's my favouritest spot on Saturday afternoons =Pp But didn't try the fruit juice as recommended by Liling cos the market was seriously crowded (there seemed to be some cycling event going on that day), and there was no one to take care of my bike while going in. Am still paranoid about my bike getting stolen (see january 2005 heheh), so settled for a bottle of H-two-O from 7-11. Anyway, without doubt, the most often heard sentence this Chinese New Year (with the exception of the usual "happy new year" "gong xi fa cai" etcetc) is, "wah you're in NS already!", "wah, your son is in NS already" and etcetc. and my head has gotten rubbed a lot... Realised that my relatives seem to live in places which hold a lot of memories and emotions for me. One lived near Yio Chu Kang n to get there we had to sort of re-trace the path which ChuaH and I walked on the 5th of January (though now that I think back, that was really a walk in a park compared to route march... still, it was an enormously fun experience =D), past Lorong Chuan and along Yio Chu Kang Road n also past the houses of several friends. Also, we went past Serangoon Stadium, in which the St. John AGI was held in 2001, when I was a mere cadet, and another time in 2005, when I was a newly-promoted SNCO and flag orderly for Zone 2 haha. Another relative lived along Loyang Avenue, along which I cycled on the way back from Changi Village (and along which, according to my parents, a lot of fatal accidents take place. Whoops), and along which the bus always travels during book in / out!! ahhH!H! haha.... never mind though. But CNY, of course, had been a time of relaxation and eating a lot. The last year seems to have past so fast, n I was complaining about eating a lot of chocolate and oranges, and my classmates were telling me not to worry since I wouldn't have to run during cross-country anyway haha... I had another weird dream last night... that for A-levels I got Maths: A Bio: B!!!!!!!!!! AHHH! Chem: B Physics: C GP:B3 and so couldn't get into medicine. My goodness. Anyway, apparently more than one person has said that As will be out on March 2nd. This includes people from my class, from St. John and from fencing, so... hmmm.... maybe there's some truth there... =/ Scared man!! But as Enjie and Nelson said, no point worrying cos its already done.. Still, it makes my skin crawlllll.... Anyway.... am having a lot of confused thoughts about army, and what it would be like to actually "defend Singapore in times of war" like they keep saying... Think the National Education lectures are going to my head... Man, I shouldn't think about such stuff.... But its so unreal... During training they talk about "the enemy" and teach us movement tactics, shooting, n this week is grenade and in the future there will be bayonet n etc, but to actually kill a person? Isn't that something you can't really train for? Aiyar dunno lar.... Its a very difficult topic to write about, but not very good to keep bottled out which is why I'm spilling it incoherently here... Oh well, anyway we are left with.... 3 weeks and 3 days to POP! 15 more days of cleaning the toilet and what not... then we'll see what the future holds =) Shall enjoy my last 24 hours out of camp haha ~JcZw~ at 3:36 pm
