Confound it.

NAPFA was a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y fouled up. Well, time to write a more coherent post than this morning's....

Let's start from the morning... when I came out of the room to type my first post, it was like walking into a solid wall of heat. My father later would comment that "today's really humid". I was also so insomna-ed that after disassembling my shaver to clean it (a process which I usually carry out quite naturally), I forgot how to reassemble it back and had to ask my father for help

-_-'"

6-item NAPFA was novel to say the least... I cleared my SBJ decently enough, and cut my shuttle run by quite a bit.

It was only when we saw the ambulances that I should have thought that today's weather conditions were not ideal, but apparently it did not occur to me. It was very clear when we started though. By the first bend my side was beginning to throb. By the third lap I felt like withering and dying. The sun was literally sucking the moisture from our bodies, stark contrast to the previous year (where rainy conditions cost me a below 10 min timing thanks to someone slipping and tripping me!).

I could not start fast, and I could not accelerate along the straights as I would usually do, nor could I concentrate. Bringing my thoughts to bear on the person in front of me was becoming as easy as drawing a bead on an air rifle target while hyperventilating. By the two laps, nausea was prevalent. Mr Goh's countdown to the silver could only prompt me to sprint to the end before collapsing quite literally.

Lesson learnt: Never run with a severe lack of sleep especially when you're recovering from a bug.

12 min 20 sec. Horrendous. A full minute and more off the pace and the worst run I've done since Primary School.

Die lar. Retake next week lor. And I hope to goodness I can come out intact cos my Chinese Prelim is on the same day. So irritating! Life is just getting me down. Makes you feel like quitting school and getting a job as a caveman or something. Chinese fencing subjects SJ work work work. Its no wonder I'm not getting any sleep at night. Can't wait for the day when my body can shut down before 2 am!

Haiyar, just that not much seems to be going right at this moment
