The second of the series of long weekends ahead. Not bad... Still, there is plenty of homework to entertain us... Half day today.. The government hijacked the school and threatened to fine anyone who stayed past 12 o'clock =D they should do this more often! Went to Far East (was it Far East? I don't know... somewhere there lar) to eat Long John and Fried Mars bars with Prata, Stella, Vibha and Liling (and later, Charmaine)... now that was TRULY unhealthy... forgot to take picture!!

After that we walked about to try and use up the glycogen... Can you imagine, NAPFA's on Monday and we're still doing such self-destructive stuff xD Really must exercise this weekend.

We finally handed over for First Aid Club, leaving it to Junbin and Samuel, who, like us, are from DHSJAB and AHSJAB respectively. The club has really grown since last year, really hope they'll be able to do well in the year ahead... especially when you consider that the number of qualifed first aiders in the club is not very big...

As for ourselves, I guess I'm privileged to have been part of the club... Haha, not that we're as bonded as other CCAs, being just a club, but we've done many duties together, treated injuries together, gotten suan-ed by Debate Soc. once, suan-ed by some Cosiety pest another time, and oh boy, we've had loads of fun doing all those quizes and seminars =) Other memorable events would include:

Our first duty: Sports Day 29 April 2005
Our first public duty: Under No Roof, 11 hours with limited food... oh boy...
Our first mass casualty duty: Sea Regatta 2006. 40< casualties treated in one day.

Still, we'll be back from time to time just to see how things are..

FAC 2006, which happily includes 2 of my junior class people =)

Farewell was very nice... The juniors bought pizza and stuff for us, and made each of us a little card and a tag which says "VJC First Aider", similar to our armbands... I'm carrying that tag around on my bag now... haha.. so nice.

On the other hand, fencing handover is being bogged down in a series of difficulties, which I should not elaborate on here due to the risk of leaking confidential info... but oh well...

Makes you feel kinda old.. that you're handing over everything all over again... As Vibha mentioned, its like we're being rushed into adulthood too fast... As though Singapore is just accelerating and cramming its young people with technology and education so that they can be rushed into the working world ASAP... Well, nothing wrong with that, because 21 is the adult age anyway, but the sheer speed and amount of info that one learns in your 18 years is so much more than other countries.... May there NEVER be a day when some smart guy in the government thinks "Hey! There are more people in England taking 3 A-levels now! Lets make our students take 5!"

Not to mention that Pulau Tekong is calling to us...

FSI's coming up... sigh I feel kinda tired of fencing, which, for me, seems to have stagnated at one level and not climbed any higher... Things don't seem to have improved much since the Term 1 season... Been concentrating mainly on stuff regarding the Year 1s for now. The final part of what I said during my exco interview has yet to be fufilled though...

And for that, the inter-school competition arrives in July, the first official tournament by the MOE. Maybe fencing will finally be considered as worth fighting for as other sports groups by the school...

Well.. till then its back to training... And of course, all the schoolwork....

By the way, who is Gavin?
