I've never been aware of sustaining a sustained number of injuries... except when they actually interfere with my physical activities. Like, you know. Haven't updated for some time... mainly because there was little time, or, fine, I was lazy. Anyway here goes:

Fingers still aching from friday. I really think soccer is a high risk sport. "Sports with risk of severe physical injuries should be banned". Fine, ban soccer and see what happens. On Monday maths test went pretty fine. Should be able to get a double-digit number. If its single digit at least it won't be a ROUND number anyway. We hung ard in LT3 after that to discuss about music fest. Then we scared each other by telling ghost stories.... hehe.... Oh yeah, I passed my NAPFA test.... yay! Finally could take off without flailing about on the line.

Fingers still aching from friday. Same sentiments as written above when tuesday came. And boy was it reflected when I went for fencing in the night. I couldn't hold the pistol grip properly, could not make a strong parry and generally could not move my fingers fast without causing extensive pain to my thumb. Nico alone, whom I can beat usually, already showed me a hard time when he was leading me 7-6. The coup de grace came when he lunged at me so fast and so hard that his sword was bent at a 45 deg angle from the horizontal. As he withdrew it from my jacket (and from the dent which he probably implanted on my sternum) and bent it back, the blade broke. Thats how hard he hit. Boy can he hit. The match was called off, but he was leading 8-6 so I guess its consensus that he won...

The next few matches were not less disasterous

vs. Judith, lost 15-14 (I had been leading 14-12, but just couldn't withstand her last few attacks! And while conducting a stop hit by bending close to the ground to avoid her blade, her weapon flicked past, caught on the rim of my mask and whacked the unprotected back of my head. Ouch. Luckily its force had been spent or I would be sporting an extra hole from the head.)

vs. Joseph, lost 15-5 (Usually he can beat me one. My finger just about reduced my chances of winning to that of a snowflake surviving summer in in Sahara... or present day Singapore, its about the same. And I throughly jealous of his ability to do his CQC dueling =Pp And during the match he flicked my unprotected left hand, opening a small incised cut and adding to my steadily-becoming-more-impressive list of injuries.)

vs. Brenda, lost 15-13 (So close! thats the best score I've had against her before. But my finger was kind of dropping off, and my blade was going everywhere except her scoring jacket)

And last. Versus my father. My left-handed father. No joke, he is a very good fencer. He used to be fencing captain when he was in NUS last last time. But presently, I could still beat him my sheer stamina. Last night however was different. I had been leading 8-3 and was already dying of fatigue when he got his second wind, pulling off 5 parry-ripostes in a row and making the score equal. Then I started to get desperate, because every lunge and every fleche that I pulled off he just parried and countered. So I started every flick, side hit, and tried to hit him everywhere but his chest, not easy considering that the main parts that foil hits are scored on are the chest, under the armpit, and back.

I won 15-12 after 25 minutes, nearly 3 times the standard time for a match. Sighz

So I thought I could give my knocked about systems some rest today... oh nooo.....

Bio practical. A session which I actually quite like, but which I'm not particularly good at. So I was sucking hydrogen peroxide into my syringe and getting ready to discharge into my test tube. Not very funny considering the 2 mol / dm^3 concentration. And along came Gerald Phoon who inexplicably POKED me in my ribs asking if I could move aside. The spontaneous reaction from my ribs to my arms was instantaneous, reactive and volcanic in nature. I discharged the syringe faster than I've ever done in my life. Hyrdrogen peroxide sprayed out from the test tube, onto my hand and the table. Heheheee... thats two bio pracs in a row larr!!! So it was like wash wash wash and wash somemore... pah.... hehe.... but actually not damage done, except that my hand was kinda itchy for sometime.

I think Jonathan ChuaH is right. I think I'm really accident prone. Or I'm just unlucky. Anyway whatever lar.

Yeah.... to round off today we had dancing (which suddenly became VJ mass dances, but I don't mind that) after school... yeah... met Michelle from fencing on the way home... yeah, talked a bit... then came home lar.

Haha..... oh man, results coming out on monday! Its more or less confirmed anyway... All the best and God bless everyone!

SJ n OSSIS rulez!
