Oh man... haven't written anything for a few days, and so many things have happened in them too... But on the other hand, a lot of things happen in VJC... haha.... which is what makes it great anyway.... I've harped on that so many times already.

A post dedicated to 12 very special people. From a very special class. With a very special chromosome combination.

14 February 2005
A day that will have to be counted as one of the most memorable in JC, whether I stay in VJ or not.

Friendship Day, or, as others prefer to call it, Valentine's Day.
We were aware of it. Mainly because from the odd reminder from the odd girl (to be exact, in my memory, one very pretty one =Pp). So for the weekend we had worked. From cross country to monday, most of the guys were tying friendship bands, buying roses and ribbons, or helping to draw cards. The cards in question... each one had a very unique history behind it... By sunday night we were all done. Everyone was tired, but satisfied. It might interest female OSSIS readers that some of their cards came very close to disaster at my hands =X

Monday morning was one of the most exciting I've every had in school, dodging around after assembly trying to think of how to present the stuff to them. We were seen though.... haha.... Prap appeared so fast that we were staring stupidly at her for a short time before we took evasive action.

But we were not the only ones who had done stuff. Oh no. Others had put in effort. Probably much more than we did.

Because in these situations there seems to be nothing that guys can do that girls can't surpass, let alone equal. I'm sure many XX chromosomed homo sapiens would agree with me there.

Presents literally poured in from all over. I use the analogy of water because my bag was kind of overflowing with them. Flowers, sweets, exquisitely decorated cards, the odd brownie, chewing gum, paper hearts, home-made cookies. Each neatly arranged, folded, made, baked (continue to find more adjectives). I don't know how to describe what I felt (Seems I don't know how to describe a lot of emotions. I use this line a lot. But its true). I think the emotion was a sense of belonging, of being a unique individual to this class. With it was a reassurance that it was in this class where I could find friends. Not because of the presents. But the sincerity and the obvious effort that they put in touched me beyond measure =)

We finally gave out ours during the break. The fatigue and the effort of the past weekend was more than worth it to see the faces of the girls during the break. I think they reflected what we ourselves had been feeling. It was just pleasant to see everyone happy. It made our class feel more bonded than ever.

And came one of the best gifts I can remember receiving. After Bio tuitorial, the girls read a speech and sang a song for us! Haha.... oh man, our flowers etc seemed to pale in the wake of this. Its very hard to write about these things... Some of the best gifts can only be retained in memory, and cannot really be written down. Oh man! So touched by them lar... I think the class girls are really fantastic (I know a few of them who would say "of course!" ;) )

Seriously, thanks so much for the wonderful day and even more so the better memories you all gave us on monday. I really think that you all are fantastic classmates! And to the person that baked the cookies for us, thanks so much for that too! They tasted quite nice =) you can be assured of that.

Yeah. The day rounded off with going for class lunch at East Coast Macdonalds. Although I had to leave early due to CCA.

To: Li Ling, Dawn, Stella, Xun-Ai, Dory, Pei En, Trina, Po Ying, Vibha Jia Min, Geraldine, Prap: The feeling that we have the best classmates in the world is mutual. No matter how nonsensical or whatever I may sound in school, but seriously, thanks so much for all the stuff you all did for us! As we wrote in the cards, really hope our class can stay intact and repeat this again next year! You ppl are the best!

Happy *belated* friendship day!
