| Tuesday, February 08, 2005 Okay! CNY is tomorrow. So today we had all the celebrations n all that.
Went to VJ at ard 7.27. Earlier than normal by about 3 minutes. I spent the night thinking about mass dance and about the sorting of the partners thing. Somehow I didn't think that whatever we said would be able to be stuck to when we really started dancing. CNY celebrations was quite okay. The performances themselves that is. But the moment I stepped into the hall I had a sudden and extremly painful bout of stomach ache. Usually the kind of stomach ache induced by a collection of stomach gases. Whatever. Had to gasp my way through the national anthem and pledge. As mentioned, the performances were good. The dikir barat one, although a bit tedious, had really funny bits inside. Dance was performed by year 1 members and really came off quite well. CO etcetc put up the usual stuff. Then there was also an orange-eating competition (now I know where Li Ling's oranges went). Simultaneously was a 春联 drawing competition by the non-chinese stuff. Really amusing I guess. Although I couldn't see the humour in it at that time because of stomach pain. OH! The wushu team was fantastic! espcially the girl wielding the short sword and morning star. She twirled the mace so fast that it looked like the asteroids orbiting Saturn. How to describe? You must see it for yourself to really appreciate. There was also another guy who could do splits, high kicks etcetc. I remember that in AH a certain party (NOT ME) tried to conduct a high kick and ended up splitting his pants from end to end (not wei lun either). What can we say? Phoenix won the overall competition for the day. Haha... our house rulez! Cos it has 05S15 inside? hahahah... oh man... that sounds so much like my pretty classmate =)) Yup. But we did. Didn't win anything for the banner though, but it didn't lack for anything when compared with the other banners. Woohoo! Credit to Dawn, Desmond, Po Ying etcetc ( <-- That is, the whole class lar, but the three of them really were important) for making it what it is. Then the moment we had been waiting for: When the performances ended everyone was just straining for the expected mass dance. We were not disappointed. The moment the words "Hold it stranger" rapped out of the PA system, hundreds of students fairly leapt to their feet in excitment. Never in our entire history has OSSIS formed a circle so quickly before =Pp. Whiney Whiney, Tribal, La Bamba, Neutron, Friendship and finally I Want You were played one by one. Hmmm.. realised that doing up-down-kick-down with a stomach ache is not very funny actually. But it was fun! haha... unique to VJ indeed. I managed to find Li Ling for friendship dance anyway... Hmmm.... ChuaH said that he got traumatised? haha... maybe Dawn was just too tall... Oh man... after all that staring at the mass dance things last night I only could remember how to dance friendship, neutron and whiney whiney. I'm still thoroughly blur at I want you. Dances and cheers flowed past in that 20 min, or was it half an hour? What did it matter, everyone was having fun =) There's something about shouting [It's] "Victoria!" together that brings a rush of blood to the brain. There's something about every member of VJC causing the hall to shake and the window panes to rattle that causes adrenaline to surge like the waves on the coast not 400m away. Its like everyone in the hall was of one mind, coordinated together in one entity. Wow. After recovering from the rush of euphoria I managed to recover from my stomach ache, rendevous with the other Anglicaners and return back to AH. As the crow flies, AH isn't far from VJ. Unfortunately as Singapore's LTA travels, it took 45 minutes. By the time we had reached everyone had left or was leaving. Saw wong li ting and ying min, karen and viki, jasmin and sock hwee on the way in. Few teachers were still there... although I saw Ms Ow and Mr Peach. No others though. Wanted to find Mrs Ong, Ms Chan CL and all the chinese teachers, but no go.. Sad. Then. We started dancing again. In the AHS concourse. Well, no one was there, everyone had left school already. So while the sec. school students went back to re-occupy their primary schools then we re-occupied our sec. school. Hahaha.... Led by Zu Hao we danced Whiney^2, I want you, Neutron. yeah. Haha... The TJCians also danced theirs. Then both sides cheered for their own JCs... It finally culminated in everyone cheering their different college cheers for AHS as well as singing our school song. Which we have kind of forgotten, since, as Anglicaners would know, we have *ahem* 2 school songs? Haha... if we ever get a roadshow back to Anglican High like our seniors last year we are going to dance again. For the school. Maybe during recess? hahaha.... hope so... more people must come to VJ... After everything was over I went out with the 4F people... ZhengXi, John, Kan Yu, Qi Xin, Janice, Fu Jing and were later joined by Yun Hong. Gerald tagged along until we'd reached TM before breaking off to join 4K which was apparently kicking about somewhere also. Yup. Saw a few Mt K people on the way... Aloysius, Natalia, n erm... Vanessa, yeah... The "are you okay" girl.. haha... Ate at cartel, walked about a bit and came back. Yup. Fun I guess.... now being hit my terrible sense of anti-climax... its like being brought back to earth suddenly, confronted with the fact that o-level results are like 3 weeks away. Times passes so fast. So do we have 22 months left in VJ? or 3 weeks? I'd rather not know. But no matter what happens, rest assured that in these few months I've found the best classmates that I can recall in recent times. "S15 S15! Yeah!" hahaha.... Seriously... I don't know what my reaction would be if I knew that I or any other member of our class would leave. Because everyone in the class is unique, and provides a certain aspect of ossis that wouldn't be there otherwise. Would you tear away a portion of what seems to be part of your life for such a long time? (even though its only been a month and 7 days) Really hope everyone stays yep. Stays in ossis. Funny and sombre way to end a post that started so cheerfully isn't it? I don't know. Maybe I'll just leave everything to God. Things are much less complicated that way. Yup. Thats all for now... Happy CNY guys! Oh, n get well soon to: Stella, Xuan Ming, Desmond, Jia Min, Melissa, Jin Hao ~JcZw~ at 8:11 pm
